This country cannot deal with miscarriages of Democracy
The Former, undemocratically elected President, who tried to keep power in a coup, is free and running around, AND has every chance of being elected in 2024. The GOP has passed laws and gerrymandered enough to grab power without getting a majority of votes. They are also mounting voter suppression tactics unseen for decades. The Supreme Court does not believe in Voting Rights. The only Party that can do something is blocked by two compromised Senators.
As this country slips away from any semblance of a Constitutional Republic over the next few years, we ill see a lot of vague voices of concern in the media, but they will, as they always do, act as if we still have a legitimate government.
It is a grim scenario, but as I see it, far too likely.
As for those who think I am too negative. I remember after 2020 that we would fix things by putting Trump in jail, passing sweeping voting rights laws, packing the courts to stop the fascist majority there, taxing the rich on their wealth...the list goes on and tell me where we are now and tell me how we can stop this.
