of those children so people who are on the fence or support these guns can see what that means.

They'd say, "Oh, how terrible! The shooter was mentally ill; we have to do something about mental illness!" (ignoring the fact that they won't fund mental health) or "Oh, how terrible! The teacher should have locked the door!" or "Oh, how terrible! The schools need to have better security and fewer doors!" or "Oh, how terrible! If the teachers had had guns this wouldn't have happened!" You can make them look at the carnage and they'll be shocked and they'll offer up their thoughts and prayers and come up with all sorts of stupid suggestions, but never anything about gun control. It's always something else; never the guns.
