Amber Heard's statement on the verdict.

"The disappointment I feel today is beyond words. I'm heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence, and sway of my ex-husband," Heard said.

"I'm even more disappointed with what this verdict means for other women," she continued. "It is a setback. It sets back the clock to a time when a woman who spoke up and spoke out could be publicly shamed and humiliated. It sets back the idea that violence against women is to be taken seriously."

"I believe Johnny's attorneys succeeded in getting the jury to overlook the key issue of freedom of speech and ignore evidence that was so conclusive that we won in the UK," Heard said. "I'm sad I lost this case. But I am sadder still that I seem to have lost a right I thought I had as an American -- to speak freely and openly."

I was not following the case closely so I can only go on the snippets I observed. It was sad, but instinctively I just did not find her credible. Maybe Depp is just a much better actor with better lawyers, I don't know. But I"m saddened by this whole spectacle. All women will pay a price.

Please! It means not to believe that a meme can cover you if you want to lie about others.

I’m so glad the MeToo accuser I knew also got her case dropped. She was a known liar and inflicted enough selfish BS on others, and not just about MeToo subject matter. Edit: she should be sued for defamation, perjury, vexatious litigation, whatever works to send a message, but I’m sure the accused is just glad to be rid of her.

Her lies were damning and obviously swayed the jury.

If anything from this case set women back, it was the lies that she got caught telling—not this verdict.

I don't give a shit about celebrity show-trials, yet everywhere I turned I still saw every second of your stupid acts when you thought the cameras weren't watching--switching the waterworks on and off, pretending to take notes with your pen never touching paper--and read the braying of Twitter incels who now have a movie "star" on video to back up their "all women lie" vomit. Stop digging, crawl in, pull the dirt in after you and never bother the world again. Both of you.

So she has to give that back, essentially. I doubt she'll ever make good on the rest of it.
At least this will shut her up for awhile, I should think.
