If the gun-humpers across the country are trying to prove why it's necessary to regulate firearms, they are doing - you'll pardon the pun - a bang-up job.
Nothing says "we gun owners are law-abiding citizens" like an uptick in mass shootings immediately following a public outcry after the slaughter of schoolchildren at the hands of a gunman.
Nothing supports the "good man with a gun" myth quite like a gathering of NRA members refusing to allow weapons in the auditorium where their annual meeting took place.
Nothing screams "we are responsible weapons owners" like nation-wide headlines about dead Americans shot down by responsible, law-abiding citizens who turned out to be a tad less law-biding and responsible than previously advertised.
It's almost as though these gun-humpers want to be proven dangerous, want to be exposed as murderous lunatics, want to be revealed as bad guys with guns who pose an obvious threat to society.
I have to say that if their goal is to demonstrate why gun-humpers need to be stopped, they're doing an amazing job of achieving it.

You'd think that gun-owning "law-abiding citizens" would be the first to condemn those who put all gun-owners at risk of losing their "second amendment rights" by literally proving that many of their own can't be trusted with weapons - and yet the silence is deafening.
