"GOP Plans to Install ‘Army’ of Activists as Poll Workers to Challenge Votes"

Republican Party operatives have reportedly been caught on tape discussing plans to install an “army” of trained activists as poll workers in Democratic precincts to challenge votes in upcoming elections. The strategy, reported by Politico, would also see the “poll workers” linked up directly to party lawyers via a hotline and special software on Election Day. “Being a poll worker, you just have so many more rights and things you can do to stop something than [as] a poll challenger,” Matthew Seifried, the Republican National Committee’s election-integrity director for Michigan, was quoted saying in one recording of a meeting between GOP officials and activists. At an Oct. 5 training session, Seifried is said to have told attendees that “it’s going to be an army” and “we’re going to have more lawyers than we’ve ever recruited…” Separate recordings from a meeting between activists and a lawyer for the The Amistad Project—a group previously linked to Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election—have also revealed GOP plans to build up a network of district attorneys perceived as ready to step in and dispute votes in local elections, according to Politico.

This hellhole is so red that my primary ballot came back with not a single Democrat running. I couldn't even think of anyone to write in.

I'm beyond discouraged, but still fighting.

What the heck. See what you can do otherwise.

My list of GOTV actions.
I welcome additions.

I doubt if these volunteers realize the damage they're doing to America by feeding this slow growing fascist cancer.

Republican bigwigs know this creates more suspicion and distrust toward our government, and specifically the election process. They also know nothing of substance will come of it but that rumors and conspiracy theories will pop up and spread like weeds on social media.

And, dozens of law suits will needed to finally tamp down the bullshit, but perhaps only after a couple of years and millions of dollars in costs.

Just what Putin has in mind and not a single bullet fired.....

“it’s going to be an army” and “we’re going to have more lawyers than we’ve ever recruited…”

I don't fully understand the legitimacy of what they are talking about doing or whether or not they can recruit lawyers. I suspect lawyers are a little leery of getting involved with election interference tactics these days. And the final outcome of the Select Committee might have a significant impact on future elections.

All they have to do is put it out there, and it is going to scare off people. Hopefully, it's just their own. Too bad for them that people are so pissed off about Roe v Wade, guns, and a host of other things, and I doubt they'll be deterred.

I do agree that it's going to be hard to recruit lawyers, especially since they're down to the dregs regarding 2020 litigation.

..the non-MAGA voters would begin to see the Big Lie for what it is. Trump recently said the GA Republican primary was rigged because his endorsees didn't win. How does he explain that?
