Biden Likely to Visit Saudi Arabia as US Gasoline Prices Spiral, Sources Say

Bloomberg

President Joe Biden is likely to visit Saudi Arabia later this month as part of an international trip for NATO and Group of Seven meetings, according to people familiar with the matter, with record high US gas prices weighing on his party’s political prospects.

Traveling to Saudi Arabia would mean Biden would almost inevitably meet its effective ruler, Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, whom the US president blames for the 2018 murder of a US-based columnist in the kingdom’s Istanbul consulate.

Of war and crisis. If the oil companies want to gouge, take it from them. In the 1930's FDR took over businesses playing games, arrested Chairman of boards and CEOs. One chairman being lifted out by National Guards, will get these companies on board with playing fair.

a war with a country who's leader has been attacking our Democracy since 2016 or before. It might be a war, or military exercise whatever Putin calls it, but every Democracy around the world is contingent on this win.

Roosevelt seized certain businesses that were engaged in labor disputes thru a law Congress had passed dealing with WW II. The war ended before the cases reached the Supreme Court and the law expired. When Truman tried to seize the steel industry in the Korean war the Supreme Court said it was illegal in Youngstown Sheet & Tube v. Sawyer.

(OOPS, that is what TRUMP did during the COVID DEPRESSION, isn't it??
after promising to "jawbone the Saudis" to INCREASE production during the 2016 presidential campaign--
YES, INSTEAD he sucked Saudi dick on the behalf of US oil producers who were in crisis over falling prices... and has clearly contributed to this price inflation, thereby)

If we are going to able to priduce enough electrical energy to replace fossil fuels. The molten salt reactors like the thorium-salt design are much safer then the current the reactors design the use zirconium dampening rods and water cooling.

Biden to travel to Saudi Arabia, a country he once vowed to make a ‘pariah’

President Biden is planning to visit Saudi Arabia, a remarkable departure from his vow as a presidential candidate to treat the country as a “pariah” state, according to three administration officials who requested anonymity to share details of a trip not yet announced.

The president’s trip to Riyadh follows broader efforts by his administration to build ties with the oil-rich nation to reduce the price of gas in the United States, which has skyrocketed in recent months.

The stop in Saudi Arabia is expected to be added to Biden’s overseas trip later this month, when he will travel to Israel, Germany and Spain, the officials said.
