(26,262 posts)Quite an amazing experience. At one point she was right in front of me. Later in the day I was in a massive crowd in front of Buckingham Palace. MASSIVE. And I was lucky enough to be very close to the palace.
I also got to see Lord Mountbattan, one of my heroes. Again, quite an experience.

(26,262 posts)I used to like to attend services at Westminster Abby and St. Peters ad Vidcula at the Tower of London, just to soak in the history. I found out if you want to attend the service at the Tower you just show up at a certain time and the Yeoman Warders (Beefeaters) guide you in. There are no crowds of tourists and even if you have to go directly to the chapel, it's still an amazing experience for someone like me. You can REALLY soak up the atmosphere.

(102,275 posts)and the two youngest great-grandchildren on the balcony, but the supposed future King of England, George was cut out of the frame almost the entire time. I never even got a good look at this face. Yet, Camilla?
