It's sort of like the boy that cried "Wolf!". How will people know when there is actually "Breaking News!"?

(7,281 posts)CNN has been overusing the "Breaking News" banner for at least over 20 years.
But this tweet looks like an insider memo, i guess. I don't recognize the names of anyone mentioned. are they new executives, or newscasters. anchors? who are these people? none of the names mentioned in this tweet means anything to me.
is this a pro gun townhall?
this tweet is an example of why I strongly dislike twitter.

I don't think he's going to be "pro-gun". I could be wrong, but that's my speculation.

(7,281 posts)Is a "showrunner" mean director, executive producer, writer, promoter? some other descriptive?
that's a pretty damn amazing promotion. I understood some ultra right wing wack job was holding perch as head of CNN.
Aparently a change took place. good news.

(27,115 posts)is the person who would be analogous to the stage manager in a play. Below the director, but responsible for all the nuts and bolts to make the show happen. He/she is always just off camera, giving cues to the on-camera talent, troubleshooting anything going wrong, making sure all the crew keeps the whole production together, on time, and such.
As time has gone on, they've become ever more involved with scripts and story-telling to the point where they are almost a secondary director. I think it's now considered the most important job in a TV show.

(101,311 posts): a person who oversees the writing and production of each episode of a television series and has ultimate managerial and creative control over the series
A showrunner is more than just a producer. He or she is the creator or co-creator of a show and is a writer as well. These people are the guiding lights for a production. They are making decisions about casting, story arcs, as well as the day-to-day issues of getting a show done and ready for air.

(27,115 posts)"Breaking News" has ceased to mean anything.
I also approve of a "Guns in America" beat. More attention needs to be paid to the sacrifices made to the 2nd amendment.
So far, Licht gets approval from me!
