Don’t fall for this Republican bullshit on guns.
Scalia himself wrote in DC v. Heller that “the right secured by the Second Amendment is not unlimited,” adding that "nothing in our opinion should be taken to cast doubt on longstanding prohibitions" on:

• “the possession of firearms by felons and the mentally ill”
• “laws forbidding the carrying of firearms in sensitive places such as schools and government buildings”
• “laws imposing conditions and qualifications on the commercial sale of arms”

Scalia even pointed out “the historical tradition of prohibiting the carrying of dangerous and unusual weapons.”
In short, it’s not the Constitution standing in the way of us passing commonsense laws to save lives.

McConnell adds he is "hopeful and optimistic" that bipartisan agreement can be reached at the federal level to "actually target this problem."
