(205,295 posts)People are dying of overdoses, "friends," or not! But I agree this was a particularly interesting show. I hadn't heard of either of the guys on the panel, but it was a big news week and an interesting discussion. And I thought New Rules was a winner, too (except for the last line).

(25,483 posts)I'm always mystified why young people use drugs like heroin. Their whole lives are ahead of them. I'm like the housekeeper in "It's a Wonderful Life" who says "Boys and girls and music. Why do they need gin?"
I understand the drug use of addictive personalities like Anthony Bourdain, George Carlin, Keith Richards and so on, and why people with horrible hopeless lives of any class or age use drugs. I don't understand why so many middle class young Americans want to use drugs.
