All this indictment does is tie Navarro down. The ultimate punishment is a month in jail and a big fine. But I would assume all his comms with Trump just got sucked up into a giant straw at DOJ.

The substance of his communications is not the issue. If he goes to jail, those communications are still in his possession, and may remain hidden. Am I missing something?

You can’t block a search warrant for documents that have been declared not privileged- even if they might be privileged, they can be seized and reviewed by a special master , then released or returned
