(9,168 posts)We can only hope.
I wouldn't see any justification for granting him bail considering the reason he's in trouble is that he didn't show up for a hearing when he was legally required to.
Giving him bail so you could trust him again to show up for a hearing which he's legally required to attend...that just seems dumb on a large number of levels.

(28,713 posts)Theres no bail because theres no bail hearing because theres no pretrial confinement in a case like this. IOW - nothing to bail out of

Commissioner Pete Rozelle met with Lombardi and informed him that the marriage would be bad for the league and Lombardi curtly told him "this is my team, you can't tell me how to run it" (as told by Vicky Aldridge).

(13,554 posts)He should be denied bail as a flight risk. It isnt that hard to take a private boat to an island somewhere if you have enough money to pay corrupt officials to look the other way. A few weeks in jail might change his attitude. A stay in a maximum security orison would be nice for him!

I doubt he's sitting there silently. Cameras are rolling and even though he thinks no one is paying much attention to him, they're recording every single bit of self incrimination.

He was supposed to be in Nashville tonight and NYC tomorrow.

(28,713 posts)The crime has been on the books for about 85 years.
How many of those accused have ever received a year in prison?
You dont have to have represented one of them to find out the answer.
OTOH - if, like former9thward, you had clients in lots of other federal cases
you would be more familiar with how sentencing decisions are made. You would be familiar with the sentencing commissions table.
The offense is comparable to the middle of zone A (call it a four or a five). With no prior history
the guidelines say 0-6 months in prison (if he can be convicted at all)
