U.S. DOJ declines to charge ex-Trump officials Meadows and Scavino, NY Times reports

U.S. DOJ declines to charge ex-Trump officials Meadows and Scavino, NY Times reports

For years, the rate at which the IRS audits the highest earners has fallen as the agency's funding dwindled. However, that trend has reversed in the last seven months, the IRS said in a statement released with an annual report last month.

Between September of last year and May, audit rates have doubled "for taxpayers in every income category above $100,000," the IRS said in a statement.

Audit rates for incomes between $100,000 and $500,000 have risen to 0.6%, doubling from 2019, the IRS said. Audits for taxpayers making above $10 million in one year increased fourfold, reaching 8%.

One or both of these guys is talking to the Jan 6th committee , or DOJ, or both, and have a deal made secretly, or AG Garland is already got more than enough evidence to use against these two guys and is waiting for more investigating to be locked up for more serious crimes , and a better case before indicting them. The AG is doing this for a reason.

As the Jan 6th committee hearing get going, he may be waiting for certain things to come out first, or is using it to pressure them for more information. I still think AG Garland has a plan, and is tying not to show his hand , yet. I do think these two are in deep, deep trouble.

does not preclude DOJ federal indictments..Meadows was coup central..if he wants some sort of an immunity deal then he has to implicate Trump..it's that simple, really...

Just once I wish we DUers would stop trashing Garland..stop the OMG Chicken Little "sky is falling" laments..the J6 hearings are set to begin next Thursday so maybe we can hold off passing judgement until we know what they know...

AG Garland is a very accomplished lawyer and judge, and I am wanting things going faster, but he first had to uncover spies within the DOJ, which would be a very time consuming task. Plus according to people he's worked with he is very methodical, and very smart, so I have faith he will get it done correctly.
