Will the January 6th Committee shut down after the hearings?

I doubt that they will. They will likely stay intact until after the election in November. If Republicans win the House, they will likely dissolve. Everything will be in the hands of the DOJ.

It is possible that they could stay operational until January of next year, questioning witnesses and pressuring the DOJ to prosecute.

But, in my opinion, much will depend on the direction of the DOJ. If they follow the law as Merrick Garland promised, there will be no further need for the Committee to continue.
