Although Burger was perceived as a conservative, and the Burger Court delivered some conservative decisions, the Burger Court also delivered some liberal decisions regarding abortion, capital punishment, religious establishment, and school desegregation during his tenure.

Maybe it was because conservatives were always trying to impeach him back in the day.

being seated on the Supreme Court, and he despised gays (to put it mildly), joining the majority in 1986 to uphold a Georgia sodomy law.

So it seems Warren Burger hated gun owners, women who believed they were qualified to be on the Supreme Court, and gays.
