Raw video: Scene of mass shooting in Center City Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A barrage of bullets from multiple shooters left three people dead and nearly a dozen more wounded on South Street in Philadelphia.
It all happened shortly before midnight Saturday when police on patrol heard numerous gunshots from the 200 block of South Street.
Those officers saw several active shooters firing into a crowd, Inspector D F Pace said during an early Sunday morning news conference.
One of those officers fired at one of the shooters. It's unclear if that suspect was hit, Pace said.
However, that suspect dropped his weapon and fled.
At least two guns were recovered from the scene, and Pace said one of them had an extended magazine.
'Numerous' shell casing were found along the 200 and 300 blocks.
In all, 14 people were hit by gunfire. Of those victims, three people are dead and 11 more are wounded.
The victims who were killed include two men and a woman. All three suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body.
Their names have not been released.
No arrests have been made.
Police are looking for surveillance video to help them identify the shooters.

(128,705 posts)That's okay. There are smaller streets and alleys in between those "main" streets.
The 2 circles near the bottom of the above map are where 2 of the main shootings occurred and the circle above all that is where the Liberty Bell is (in the Independence Mall area). It's across the street from Independence Hall. I worked down in that area for 30+ years and watched them re-do that whole Independence Hall/Mall area. Drove by it every day and watched them also construct that Constitution Center up the street from there.
When I was a kid, the Liberty Bell was actually inside Independence Hall and you could touch it. But since that building is so small, it was just difficult to get tours in there and they went through a series of more "open" display housings for it so more could see it and to protect it because all the touching and rapping knuckles on it, was taking it's toll on it. The latest has it next to a bullet-proof window that faces Independence Hall across the street.
