Encourages people to regularly work on some type of art.

Writing short stories taught me how to observe character traits and motive.

Poetry will get you thinking about being concise. Plus emotional response.

2. I practice the art of growing flowers.

It definitely grows my soul to see the huge flower heads and beautiful colors of my hydrangeas, hibiscus, caladiums, lillies, hybrid iris' and all the rest. Not so good at orchids here, it's both too hot and too cold, but my old phaius did rebloom and put out 3 flower stalks this year for the first time in at least a dozen years. So I am happy about that and about my 2 kinds of volunteer chrysanthemums!
