One segment of society builds weapons for mass murder that any 18 year old disturbed asshole can use to kill a dozen sitting children in minutes. They do this for the money. The owners, workers, investors, managers…make money doing this.
Another segment stands in a classroom all day long teaching little kids to read, multiply, write, ask questions, learn stuff. That’s how they make their money. What are they liable for? Ooh, they are guilty until proven innocent, liable for EVERYTHING. The questions..oh my god, maybe they left an open door!!! (They didn’t, but if they had…) Did they cover the bodies of the small children? Lead them in active shooter drills?
So often the gap between what one segment is ALLOWED to do and what another group is EXPECTED to do is glaring. Like, Republican presidents and politicians are allowed to crash the economy, go off their meds, run over people in hit and runs, get arrested for DWI’s, and have sex with underage girls; while Democratic presidents and politicians are EXPECTED to stop it from veering into the ditch, get full employment, keep inflation low, be tolerant and “work with” the opposition, compromise, don’t compromise, speak in full sentences, be dynamic and wear only dark suits.
Democrat politicians or teachers, you didn’t leap tall buildings in a single bound, you didn’t stop a bullet at the last second.
Republican politicians and money men, you’re allowed to make money however you want, especially gy manufacturing all those bullets and guns but also getting elected on the backs of Russian donations or trading on insider information.
Stormed the Capitol? Ooh, our bad. We should have…seen it coming? Had more police there? Stopped Trump 20 years ago? Bought TV stations and radio to reverse the brainwashing from the other side? Oh sure, because brainwashing and insurrections are just normal. Who can blame them?
Not us. We can’t blame them for anything.
This slaughter of innocents? “We” can’t seem to get anything passed. (Shhh! Don’t say “Republicans” out loud when you’re placing blame. Ever.)
