I remember reading somewhere, that when WW2 ended, the officials in the US were hesitant about allowing survivors of the holocaust to emigrate here, because they were unsure of the level of psychological damage caused by what they had witnessed at the death camps.

I don't think the authors of the 2nd Amendment ever imagined a scenario like what is unfolding in our communities.
