Texas power grid under enormous strain. Bet Abbott orders cuts to Austin and other blue cities!

The current and forecasted hot weather is expected to sorely task the crumbling TX power grid which still hasn't been fixed or expanded since the last fiasco.

Wanna bet the Gov. will work real hard to stick it to the libs? I do.

All of Illinois facing possible rolling blackouts, except Chicago area

Right now, CWLP says next summer’s power shortage will more than double this year’s.

Officials say the power outages are possible across the state -- unless you live in the Chicago area.

Those living in that area are on a separate power grid, which won't be impacted by MISO.

He's already lost blue cities, so power outages can't lose red votes there. So he works on keeping his base in red areas.

Trans teens getting treatment!

Kids at drag shows!

People saying "gay"!

Why would Texas waste their political capital on minor issues that really affect no one - like the power grid or mass shootings?

Meanwhile the biggest thing Texas cares about is their bud Musk and Twitter bots trying to help him back out of the Twitter deal with no cost to himself. What happened, threaten to close down and move the Tesla plant?

Vast quantities of greenhouse gases will be emitted into the atmosphere during the effort to expand the capacity of the grid.

8. Why the hell does anybody live in Texas?

All too many of its citizens want to do is control women, allow schools, churches, and other places to be shot up, and basically parade around in big hats and cowboy boots telling everyone how great they are. I don't get it. I really don't.

And now, you can freeze your butt one season and roast it another! Ain't it great? Yeeehawww!!!

(And I have a niece who lives just north of Dallas with her husband and two little boys.)

11. I've asked myself that question for years (live in the Texas Hill Country), especially

in the summer. As extreme as Texas sounds there is actually about a 60/40 split here politically. It's just that the 60 controls everything. Almost every major city is Dem but Texas is a big place and is basically controlled by rural areas.

Keep in mind the kind of people that originally settled Texas - it could be in our DNA? 😁

I've threatened to leave many times but there are family issues and if you think about it where would you go? Heck, the DW and I have even talked about leaving the country in the last few years.

Anyway - not everybody here rides a horse to work and I personally do not like boots.

In all honesty, it it were not for family being here and I wasn't so old I think Colorado would be a nice place?

It's gonna be a long, hot summer....

One of the guys is a major skier. He spent 60 days on the slopes this season. And he'll hike once the snow is gone.

12. Why the hell do people campaign against the Democratic Party
Tue Jun 7, 2022, 11:11 AM

..when that only results in electing Republicans.
Maybe that's what they really want.
Like those who live in Tx, really want.

There are only 2 choices. RED or BLUE.
Support Blue, Vote Blue

This would change the political game in Tx.
The corrupt Tx political structure needs to be gutted at the top.

13. The only time I see an abundance of cowboy hats around here is during rodeo and 90% is cosplay

During rodeo people get dressed up in cowboy clothes while they go to Garth Brooks concerts.

Our sheriff wears a cowboy hat, but he's also bald...
He's a Democrat.

State troopers wear them, but I don't see state troopers very often.

Also forest rangers and national park rangers wear them in all 50 states. Wide brim hats have their place. However, the Texas Rangers division of the Dept of Public Safety is extremely over the top. They wear business suits and huge white 10 gallons hats. FUGLY. I swear they do it to make themselves look taller.

I think law enforcement wear cowboy hats in rural areas in several western states. However, I think only Texas has it's investigative division of the state police wearing 10 gallon hats as their official uniform. LAME and FUGLY.

Unfortunately I'm stuck with family here. I tried to convince hubby to move, but he's Mexican-American and would actually be discriminated against in other states. Here he climbed the career ladder. which is public education partly. This is because he represents the majority population and the population of his students. Other states would not want him.

Had his last 6 years in military there and now doesn't want to take kids out of schools or away from friends.

They are planning on moving in 4 years when last child finishes high school.
