Thousands Of Dems Switch To Vote Against Boebert In GOP Primary
It's not happening anywhere else in the state, CPR News reports.
By Susie Madrak — June 8, 2022

Looks like some Democrats in Lauren Boebert's district may have taken matters into their own hands, trying to knock her out in the Republican primary. Via CPR News:

Thousands of voters have recently left the Democratic Party in Western Colorado — some as part of a grassroots effort to defeat Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert in her upcoming primary election.

Among them is Steven Hallenborg of Montrose.

“Well, I'm a lifelong Democrat, and now I'm unaffiliated,” he said. Because he changed his affiliation, he now can vote against Boebert in the June 28 Republican primary.

For the last few years, Colorado’s “open primary” system has allowed unaffiliated voters to participate in either party’s primary elections. That means voters like Hallenborg can weigh in on Boebert’s primary run — without actually joining the Republican Party.

The mass migration only seems to be happening in Boebert's district, where 3,600 Democrats switched their registration to unaffiliated. No other Colorado district has seen a comparable change over the last few months; neither party has lost more than a few hundred voters in other areas.

As the nation's leading expert on crisis acting, Lauren Boebert hates when real actors like Matthew McConaughey care so much about an issue that they make it harder for Explore Talent alumni to counter pic.twitter.com/FHW1aHE1GY

Imagine thinking failing your GED 3 times and having a husband who exposes himself to children makes you more "credible" than Oscar award winner Matthew McConaughey.

Alright, alright , alright, dumbass.

you can change back immediately.

I would switch parties when our forever governor Branstadt would have a primary opponent. Then I would trek down to the county auditor in the next couple of days and switch back.

When he lost the Primary, I switched back for the General Election. I considered a switch again, for the '86 Primary, when Davis declared himself a candidate for the U.S. Senate, but decided against it as he was heavily favored to lose. I was also very involved in Alan Cranston's campaign that year. Always been a Democrat, since the election of 1960, but couldn't countenance Ed Davis getting even close to a position of great power. It was enough he ruined so many lives as L.A. Police Chief. Couldn't let him even sway public opinion more than he already had.

We’ve occasionally done this in Texas, with not much success to show for it. At least I will have had the pleasure of voting against Ken Paxton 3 times this year. (Primary, Primary runoff and General)

I used to live in a county where the Sheriff was completely corrupt and ineffective. Not a good combination. I changed party affiliation just to vote against him in the primary. He lost, thankfully.

It’s really something we ought to be doing more.

I changed my registration to Independent and just received ballots for republican and democratic candidates. You can only vote on one ballot, but in my case, most of the democrats were running unopposed in the primary. I went ahead and voted for her challenger. The way our district is laid out, it's going to be difficult for a Democrat to take her seat.
Next week, I'll change my registration back to Democratic.
