I think this is something in Biden, to a fault actually.

Mitch McConnell is a terrible and duplicitous person. Biden gives McConnell a pass at his own peril. And ours.

that we only see. They’ve known each other since the 80s. I’m sure Joe Biden has blocked some of Mitch McConnell’s shit in the past also. People are complicated

ETA: Not saying they have done an equivalent blocking of each other’s agenda. One is far worse than the other.

You've asked him personally?

Look, if you've been paying attention to politics at all, you know they all make a big show of comity. Doesn't mean they trust each other. Biden has seen that ratbastard work to undermine Obama in every way that he could. I doubt he trusts him. Be he will show respect to all of them in public, because it serves all of them to keep up that facade.

... I did not see the interview, but Biden has always tried to maintain the "gentleman politician" image; often giving the opposition more credit than they deserve. I think that's where most Americans are... most don't watch Maddow or Tucker. They have families and jobs and would rather watch an "I Love Lucy" rerun after working all day. They think elected officials should just work together.

I believe Biden and his team have decided not to be abrasive. I don't think people liked that in Crooked Donald. So... you get these "let's be bipartisan" and "let's all just get along" moments. It's an illusion, though... they really don't get along. Kerry and McCain could really be friends. Reagan and Tip O'Neill. Clinton and GH Bush. Even Junior and Michelle Obama. The President and Mitch McConnell? Nope.
