What is the truth with this so-called attempt on Kavanaugh's life?

The right wing media acts like the guy was stopped in progress, but another source I read claimed the guy, "Nicholas John Roske was taken into custody when he called an emergency line and confessed that he wanted to kill Brett Kavanaugh".

Did the guy turn himself in before ever getting anywhere near Kavanaugh, or was he stopped on his way?

I can't seem to find a clear account on what actually happened.

I heard on the radio yesterday a blurb about it. He himself called 911 to report he was armed and several blocks from Kavanaugh's house in Chevy Chase. The cops responded and found he had an unloaded gun, locked in a case in his trunk, a knife, some pepper spray, and burglary tools in the car. He showed them.

It sounded phony from the get go. A "look at those crazy libs going after a judge" story.

At the end of the day - it was a failed 'something' - and it doesn't warrant a law being enacted.

Do you think the CIA used MKULTRA on him? Or do you think the right-wing paid him to do what he did (in which case the payment would be pretty useless, considering that he'll likely get life in prison)?

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/nicholas-roske-brett-kavanaugh-attempted-murder/

U.S. Deputy Marshals reported seeing a person dressed in black clothing and carrying a backpack and suitcase get out of a taxi that stopped in front of a current justice's house at roughly 1:05 a.m., according to the affidavit. The person looked at the two marshals and turned to walk down the street, the FBI agent wrote.

The Montgomery County Emergency Communications Center then received a call from a person, who identified himself as Roske, saying he was having suicidal thoughts and had a firearm in his suitcase. Roske also said he came from California to kill a "specific United States Supreme Court justice," according to the filing.

Montgomery County police officers were dispatched to the location, where they found Roske. He was taken into custody without incident, and authorities seized his backpack and suitcase. Police found in his belongings a black tactical chest rig and tactical knife, a Glock 17 pistol with two magazines and ammunition, pepper spray, zip ties, a hammer, screwdriver, nail punch, crow bar, pistol light, duct tape, hiking boots with padding on the outside of the soles, and other items, the affidavit states.

***

"Roske indicated that he believed the Justice that he intended to kill would side with Second Amendment decisions that would loosen gun control laws," according to the affidavit. "Roske stated that he began thinking about how to give his life a purpose and decided that he would kill the Supreme Court Justice after finding the Justice's Montgomery County address on the Internet. Roske further indicated that he had purchased the Glock pistol and other items for the purpose of breaking into the Justice's residence and killing the Justice as well as himself."

From this, I'd say his intent was "meaningful suicide", but had second and third thoughts about following through when he saw the deputy marshals were right there. It took the wind out of his sails and he walked a few blocks away and called the police on himself.

After the decision was leaked there were many threats towards the conservative Justices so Governor Hogan requested surveillance of their homes.
I doubt this was a false flag, because the would be assasin is now facing 20 plus years in prison. It sounds like he was heading to the house but saw the officers and got scared. Maybe he had second thoughts, or maybe he just decided that if he turned himself in he would get a little mercy.
Violence from all sides must stop! I hope they make an example of this man, and it makes others think twice.

to these right-wing justices that have taken over the court and instigated minority rule. violence from all sides huh? What bullshit. Maybe they shouldn't rule from the bench. I have no sympathy and don't give a damn...there have been people killed in Texas because they voted for Biden. They created this gun-happy society (SCOTUS) as you reap so shall you sow.

An attempt means an action taken that would put Kavanaugh's life in immediate danger. A person with intent, who turns himself in, is not an attempt. It is a plan, or intent, but not an attempt.

I wish media would just report things as they are.

kavanaugh can too. He can spend his ill-gotten gains and hire security if he is 'scared'. I guess when you participate in minority rule and actively try to kill women and innocent people on death row...you take a risk in this violent gun-obsessed society. Well, he helped create it so too f'ng bad.
