To begin, here is a thread that has a number of good viewing options. PBS is doing a good job. I had to turn away from Chris Wallace on CNN.

Here we go!

(48,955 posts)First time to do a group watch at DU in more than a decade. This is too big an event to watch alone, and not have anyone to talk with about it.

salin
(48,955 posts)I still semi-regularly read (mostly headlines and thread topics), and when I considered how/where to watch - I realized the best/company place to be with was to come to my original virtual home.
It means a lot to see you, and feel that warm embrace.

(14,124 posts)I moved back to where I grew up in Southern Illinois about 5 years ago. As a teacher I couldn't stay in IN. Best decision ever!
salin
(48,955 posts)but moved back to my hometown - the big blue dot of IU-Landia (B-ton) which makes it easier to weather the toxicity of much of the state. Glad you landed in a saner and familiar place. Peace to you.
I imagine I will be here (DU) for the upcoming hearings - or at least most of them. I hope we cross paths again!
Peace to you.

(21,550 posts)been saying this for a while and I'll say it again........... don't get too worked up over the ratings for this. People these days are not a captive audience that is going to sit down and watch network TV for two hours.
Success will be on how much social media buzz this creates.
Are people retweeting soundbites?
Are they sharing articles on Facebook?
Are they posting videos on tik tok?
Success isn't the ratings, it is how many people you ultimately reach and influence between ratings and social media. That's how it works in 2022. So IF the media is bathing itself in joy over low ratings at some point, don't panic and despair.
That being said, LET'S DO THIS!

(1,413 posts)Is that the same room that the Watergate hearings were held in? Kinda looks familiar (as if I can remember). I watched the Watergate hearings with my father back in the day.
Staph
(6,251 posts)The Watergate hearings were held in what is now the Kennedy Caucus Room, on the Senate side. In that same room were held the Titanic hearings, Joseph McCarthy's Communist hunt, and Fulbright's hearing on the conduct of the Vietnam War.
It is an awesome room, and I suspect the Cannon Caucus Room is just as impressive.

(3,722 posts)Having video of Barr stating that on three separate occasions that he told trump directly that the election was not stolen.
Removes the pretext of trumpers going the route of "hey trump really thought the election was rigged, so he acted accordingly!"
After all, Barr was trump's own AG and is about as trumpy as can be.
