35 years ago. I swore an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC. Those seditious, insurrectionistic fascists are definitely domestic enemies (maybe Russian agents were sprinkled in or fed the violence). It makes me wish to beat the crap out of them. Anyone who swore the same oath should view those repugnant Republicans as enemies of the Constitution.

Taking off my (NAVY) uniform did NOT abrogate my responsibility to uphold and defend The Constitution.

Since 1775 there are no ex-sailors. Our title is earned, never given, and what's earned is ours forever.

Just because I hung up the uniform does not mean I was released from my oath. An officer's word is bond and if the officer breaks trust, then that officer does not deserve to be followed.

A similar oath applies to Congress-critter and Presidents. But it appears that anyone with an R after their name have no honor

There were military people in that crowd. Did they forget the part about refusing an "unlawful order" ??

These greedy assholes from abroad are hugely responsible for what happened there.

I took the very same oath in 83 when I joined the USCG. I still feel the same way, especially after tonight.

My brother and only sibling, took the oath in the USAF in 84.
His oldest, my nephew, is currently USAF.

My grandfather served in the US Army in North Africa, Italy and France in WWII.

My own father took the same oath back in 61 for the USAF. Spent a year in Vietnam away from his wife and 2 boys. Retired after 23yrs. He called the hearing a "farce" and made snide comments about the Officers "hero" duty Jan 6th.

For the first time ever in my life I wanted to punch my father. Good thing my mother taught me to respect my elders because he wasn't around all that much with TDY's every other year or so.
