That's not something I expect them to watch on TV for 4 hours.

(32,989 posts)How did you think they were supposed to get there? How many members of the military do you think should have shown up.
Did you expect the army, marines, navy and coast guard? I don't follow your thinking at all.

(93,504 posts)... enough arms to do something.
Relative to facts that aren't in dispute I don't follow the intimation the US Military couldn't have done something before having to be asked.

(3,782 posts)It's part of their oath and they all, especially the highest leaders, take it quite seriously that their role is not to have any role at all in domestic affairs. That's what the police and the national guard are supposed to be for. Getting the military involved in domestic affairs is how you get coups where your new leader for life is a general in that military.

If cops aren't ex-military, if they haven't serve in the armed forces before they join a civilian police force, they aren't going to have the training to fight traitor mobs.

That was his main motivation, I think. Others around him, though, saw and still see a useful idiot and took advantage. Trump is always in it for Trump. Why should this be different?

Trump was planning this fuckery no matter what happened. As stunning as that remark was then, its truly frightening now.
I just have a bad feeling that these hearings may be our last, best chance to save this republic. If thats hyperbole, sorry.
