Help Me Here - The Repugs Are Saying That The Committee Is Illegal/Unconstitutional But...

if the committee is detailing the timeline of a coup attempt and TFG's culpability as the leader of the coup - does that negate the truth that the committee is uncovering? Does it make it any less the truth?

Do they think that their stand that the committee as being illegal/unconstitutional means that they are not guilty of the treason and sedition of their attempt to overthrowing our government - not allowing the peaceful transition of government.

Are they any less guilty?

How could the Repugs use that as an excuse to discredit the work of this committee?

It's a stupid stand by them.

The facts are the facts. The truth is the truth.

That's what this committee is doing. They are uncovering the elements of the attempted coup by Trump and his minions.

It's not any less the truth because the Repugs are saying that the committee is illegal/unconstitutional.

It's just stupid on the part of the Repugs to make that their position on this.

The committee can’t throw people in jail. They can try to persuade the public about what really happened, and they can try to convince the DOJ that THEY must prosecute. The Republicans know the facts are not on their side. So, they are hoping to convince the public that the process is illegitimate so that will cancel out reactions to the facts. They can hope that the DOJ won’t trust what the committee did in its process, to gaslight them.

It's what they do...exercise their 1st Amendment right and spread propaganda. They aren't talking to us, rather the kookie radical righteous who don't listen to anyone but the Repugs.

Ignore them. This is the time for patriots to step forward. Not the time for insurrectionits. They had their time on Jan 6.

They've been doing that for years. There are only nine people who ultimately have the authority to declare anything unconstitutional. That would be the Supreme Court of the United States.
