I get the impression, from reading some, that she is much more of a dyed in the wool conservative than most of the republican hacks who attack her. They should probably pay attention.
There will come a day when Donald Trump is gone but your dishonor will remain

(16,844 posts)She's doing good work with the committee, but she's betting that the Republicans will get over the Trump worship and when the evidence against him is presented, they'll drop him like a hot potato. When that happens, she'll have cred with independents for taking a principled stand when it wasn't popular and her political stock will go up. She's ambitious, and she's very conservative. The Democrats will have to go against her eventually, but for now they're all playing nice. It's all political bullshit, but it's still a breath of fresh air after dealing with a terrorist bedfellow like Trump.

(40,367 posts)she is a formidable and astute politician and can bet on the bigger picture. Though I think she is serious in her disdain for Trump and his enablers.

(11,098 posts)I disagreed with their policy positions but, with notable exceptions, I rarely doubted their honor and patriotism. There may be such Republicans again someday but today they are few and far between.

(35,961 posts)I hate her politics but she's got integrity and values democracy over power.
Apologies for not knowing much about her apart from the Jan 6 thing and that she's a Republican, but I do know a bit about neo-conservatism and her father. How is she a neo-conservative? And here's another question. If she is, is that worse than the extremist MAGA poison that's overwhelmed the Republican party?
If someone can't have at least a bit of grudging respect for her willingness to be ostracised from her own party because she values her oath to the Constitution more, then I'd be thinking that's a great example of the complete and very unhealthy polarisation if US politics.

(9,998 posts)When she probably won't even win a Primary for her House Seat in Wyoming?
Mr.Bill
(24,284 posts)There is plenty time to work on that before 2028 or even 2024. She began to try to do that tonight. Remember, Nixon became president after losing against Kennedy and the gubernatorial race in California.
Wyoming is nowhere and nobody. (no offence meant to DUers who live in that state) She's on the national stage now.
