Meadows, Milley phone call: " We need to change the narrative Pence is in charge"????

I hope we hear more about this phone call. What was Meadows talking about? Was he telling Milley not to listen to Pence? Pence was calling Milley demanding, ordering him to send help to stop the attack. Was Meadows trying to stop Milley from sending help?

Meadows, who is a weak child like coward, was involved in every aspect of the coup. This is the guy I am hoping is indicted. If this happens he will cut a deal to save himself and spill the beans on everyone. Just my opinion. Meadows is not the type of person who could handle prison. Watching his past behavior is proof to me, this guy is weak. He is very brave when he is back stabbing someone, that's about it.

Trump's WH. He always came off as a whiny little sycophant. I didn't pay any attention to him.

He really is a snake. (No offense to snakes)

It was a heroic move by Pence. What did he do that was so horrible that he cannot step forward and be recognized for his heroism?

I give him credit for what he did on Jan 6th. But he could done something before Jan 6th. Just another Republican coward.

It could be read either way. Someone on DU said to me Pence had this authority as the senior official of the Senate. I don't know, Trump was still president. Pence perhaps had local authority in the Capitol, but that could be argued. It could be argued Trump was incapacitated in whatever delusions his TV habits were enjoying. But to me it's a leap that Pence was issuing orders lawfully. Not that they weren't needed and were the right and prudent thing to do.

Backstabbing is not a sign of bravery. In fact, it is the ultimate sign of cowardice.

Regardless, Meadows is a week man and I believe he’s facing big problems.

Why did federal law enforcement act on Pence's demands when Trump was alive and well and sitting in the White House?

It's as if it was determined that Trump was either unfit or unwilling to act in the best interests of the US so his power was usurped by the VP. But on what authority?

(we'll just say out-of-touch he was) on all issues related to the release of nukes. Given there were, apparently, repeated discussions of the 25th Amendment enactment, I assume both were prepared to fully justify their not technically legal actions given ample justification.

I am thankful they both were willing to fall on the sword if necessary. Yes, the opposite could happen to a duly elected President should they surround themselves with those willing to engage in a coup themselves, but we ultimately fall victim to the integrity (or lack therein) of those put in office. THe checks and balances are not ironclad and really depend on the people who serve in those roles.

kissing shithole's ass usual. He could have been upfront with the truth. As to Meadows, he is probably singing right now. Thank the heavens the congresscritters hid and many made it to safety, especially the Democrats because I believe they would have been slaughtered.

shithole was enjoying every minute of it.

So he yelled at Meadows, because he couldn’t have people thinking he wasn’t the supreme boss, and Meadows called and whined about it to Milley. That is what I imagine happened
