Jan. 6 rioter sentenced after his GoPro showed him on front line rushing police

Nolan Cooke was sentenced to a year and a day in federal prison for his role in last year's attack on the Capitol.

By Ryan J. Reilly

WASHINGTON — A Texas man who had a GoPro strapped to his body as he committed crimes at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 was sentenced Friday to a year and a day in federal prison.

Nolan Cooke, a 24-year-old from Sherman, Texas, was sentenced by Judge Royce C. Lamberth after pleading guilty in March to a felony charge of civil disorder. Prosecutors said Cooke "helped lead the charge of rioters who broke through the police line guarding the east side of the Capitol building during the electoral vote certification" and "later bragged that he was one of the first to break through the barricade."

Video evidence presented in court and released to journalists at the request of NBC News shows Cooke repeatedly clashing with police officers who were overwhelmed by the mob. He helped break through the initial barricade while yelling at officers who struggled to control the pro-Trump rioters.

“We’re coming through, we’re coming through!” Cooke yells in the video. “This is our house. This is our f-----g house, man,” he adds, before telling officers to “join” the mob.

I think these people are getting off WAY too easy! Thank goodness this guy at least is now a convicted felon and will have that follow him through life. Too damn many of them got away with misdemeanor charges.

And tell them—“you know how you’d sentence a black guy committing the same type of crime? DO THAT!”

Because any black guy who’d attacked a cop for any reason would have gotten 10 years, minimum.

Had the imbeciles only listened to Dr. fauci they would've been wearing masks in videos used by the FBI to identify them.

I mean, it would be a hell of a lot harder to identify them if they wore masks. But it speaks to their entitlement that they didn't fear prosecution. They figured because they're stupid white fucks, they were entitled to ransack the capitol. It's obvious that if they had succeeded, they'd never face charges.

They felt embraced by tRump, their president and believed they were needed ....they had to save America. This caused them to not take extra precautions to not be identified etc....

They will not make these mistakes the next time.....This is another reason we must have a successful 1/6 Hearing series and then FULL prosecution of all upper tier leaders of this assault.

Figures. Had to spend a weekend in Sherman because my son’s in-laws lived up there, and he was getting married at their house. Lots of proof that first cousins shouldn’t marry. Fricking scary up there.

My Jewish ass didn’t feel safe until I saw the Dallas county line sign.

Just think of all of the classes he's missing after being named a Rhodes Scholar....... Oh, wait, that was Road-kill scholar - you know, not the sharpest blade in the drawer.
He actually filmed his own participation in the insurrection? Hell, a McDonald's plastic knife is sharper than that!

Look at any video clip of that day and evening and you'll see the many hundreds of cell phones held high recording themselves and others as they committed crimes, trashing the place, hanging from the gallery and rifling through desks in the Senate chamber, Parliamentarian's office and office of the Speaker of the House. Many of them were live-streaming and they uploaded the stuff and posted online...

To them, they were "making history".

Until they had that "oops" revelation.

As a note, there were also a myriad of regular reporters in there who were reporting on the Electoral College process and who ended up capturing their own footage of what was going on. Meanwhile reporters outside, were getting attacked and I recall one video clip where the insurrectionist thugs absolutely destroyed AP's video/broadcast setup.

please post your pictures and videos online so we can prosecute you? We have too little evidence without your help so either contact us or post your stuff on Facebook, Twitter or whatever so we can help you find rest in the local jail. We know you are stupid enough to do this. No need to hide. You were born ignorant like all of us but you are some of the few who will dies stupid.
