I'm not sure she's being charged with a felony, and many states reinstate your voting rights after you've served your sentence.

nurse. I just had an average joe type job in the medical field working blood drives and I saw right through their little show. The freakin' lab coats were a dead giveaway. They had those made up just to fool the morans! Even I know doctors outside at a press conference have no reason to be wearing those. If fact had they had a reason, they would be breaking FDA regulations coming out of where they had been working wearing those.

Simone Gold, the founder of America’s Frontline Doctors, a group notorious for questioning the safety and effectiveness of COVID vaccines and promoting unproven drugs, has pleaded guilty to participating in the riot at the Capitol on Jan. 6. As part of an agreement with the government, Gold pleaded guilty on Thursday to one count of entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, a misdemeanor offense. She had been facing four other charges, including the felony of obstruction of an official proceeding.

In a hearing before US District Judge Christopher Cooper, held virtually because of the COVID pandemic, Gold admitted to entering the east rotunda door of the Capitol with other rioters, remaining for about 30 minutes, and giving a speech against vaccine mandates and lockdowns that her codefendant, John Strand, streamed online. Multiple law enforcement officers had to intervene to stop Gold’s speech.

“I plead guilty,” she said after a long pause.Gold is set to be sentenced on June 16. The charge she pleaded guilty to has a maximum sentence of six months in prison, but her ultimate sentence is at the judge’s discretion. As part of the plea agreement, Gold will also pay $500 in restitution and cooperate with additional investigations.During her hearing on Thursday, Gold asked the judge to address her as a doctor, which he then did. “I never go by Ms. Gold,” she said. “I always go by Dr. Gold.”

Gold was arrested on Jan. 18, 2021, less than two weeks after the attack on the Capitol. The FBI received a string of tips about Gold’s participation, including videos and photos that showed her inside the building and using a bullhorn to address the mob. A few days before her arrest, the Washington Post published an interview with Gold where she admitted that she’d gone into the Capitol but insisted that it was “incredibly peaceful.”

The fact that thousands of semi-American Rethuglicans literally worship and contribute to this sort of criminal does not bode well for our future.

The problem is that's up to each individual state and some are unwilling to do that because they're red states run by Republicans who push the same exact bullshit these doctor's do. Ron DeSantis is a prime example. He pushes the lies from these quacks openly and has instituted their policies which has caused numerous needless deaths. He appointed Dr. Ladapo is an antimasker and signatory of the Great Barrington Declaration, which is literal eugenics.

Yesterday, Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed Dr. Joseph Ladapo, an apostle of the Great Barrington Declaration’s eugenics lite “focused protection” approach to COVID-19, as Florida Surgeon General. If you want to see the harm caused by the GBD and crank “COVID contrarian” physicians, look no further.

I’ve written several times about the Great Barrington Declaration (GBD), a statement released by three COVID-19-minimizing scientists, Dr. Sunetra Gupta (University of Oxford), Dr. Martin Kulldorff (Harvard University) and Dr. Jay Bhattacharya (Stanford University). Named after the Massachusetts town where the American Institute of Economic Research (AIER, the libertarian “free market” think tank that birthed the declaration) is based, the Great Barrington Declaration, which, it should be noted, was published two months before any COVID-19 vaccines received emergency use authorizations (EUAs) from the FDA, advocated basically letting COVID-19 rip through the “healthy population” to achieve “natural herd immunity” while using “focused protection” to keep those at high risk of severe disease and death from the virus (e.g., the elderly and those with chronic health conditions that put them at high risk) safe from COVID-19. Unfortunately, what was meant by “focused protection” was never really defined, and the GBD totally ignored the impossibility of “focused protection” of those at high risk from an infectious disease that was spreading unchecked through the rest of the population. As I said at the time, the entire idea struck me as not-so-thinly disguised eugenics that would let the “unhealthy” suffer and die in the name of getting the business of business rolling again, while the AIER’s likening GBD adherents to abolitionists was risible in the extreme. All of this is simply a lead-up, however, to a story from yesterday, in which Governor Ron DeSantis announced that Dr. Joseph Ladapo would be Florida’s new Surgeon General and Secretary of the Florida Department of Health:
