war and saved God only knows how many lives.

BTW Turning committed suicide post WW II because he was being prosecuted

Part of his punishment to avoid prison was to agree to hormone treatments. The theory back in those days was that they could "cure" someone who was gay by giving them the opposite sex hormones their body normally made. Of course now we know that's absurd - what they did instead was induce strong dysphoria in him. Certainly gender dysphoria as his breasts grew, as he was gay not trans. But also, sex hormones co-regulate serotonin, and serotonin is our most basic regulating hormone. If the the sex hormone circulating in the body doesn't match the receptors, nothing feels or works right. Immune, autoimmune, hunger, thirst, mood & emotions, sleep, sensory, digestion...the list goes on. That he committed suicide as a result tends to surprise few trans people who've gone through it at & after puberty.

BTW as a straight man I came to grips with "the gay problem" many years ago. I don't have

"gay stuff" the more likely they are to be gay or screaming closet cases.
