Help- what are the annual earnings of the domestic assault rifle industry

I am very curious.
If the cigarette industry could be crushed, why can’t this one.
Word is that guns kill way more than cigarettes.

accidentally burn themselves up in a fire from falling asleep while smoking... there is no way that guns kill way more than cigarettes.

https://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/data_statistics/fact_sheets/health_effects/tobacco_related_mortality/index.htm

Cigarette smoking causes about one of every five deaths in the United States each year.1,6 Cigarette smoking is estimated to cause the following:1

More than 480,000 deaths annually (including deaths from secondhand smoke)
278,544 deaths annually among men (including deaths from secondhand smoke)
201,773 deaths annually among women (including deaths from secondhand smoke)

I've never seen one at the LGS or at a range. Not sure they would fit in an indoor range, anyway. The bays are too small.

Oh, wait. maybe Talon Range off I-10. I'll check the next time I am going to Midway.

Overall numbers were 480,000 divided by 365 days a year.. 1,315 and some change. I don't see a date on the site, but I assume the CDC is pretty current in their updates.

So their data is unavailable

Cigarettes are not a good comparison, as it is not possible to outline a scenario where cigarettes could be used and not directly threaten the health of the user. It is possible to use a gun relatively safely. That difference made cigarettes a much easier target.
