Not by much. He was born February 20, 1942 (age 80)
Biden was born November 20, 1942 (age 79)
But if we're talking about people who are too old for political office, he should be at the top of the list.

(28,793 posts)only Feinstein. She may be one of my all time favorites but I don't believe she has the vigor anymore to be in office.
Just A Box Of Rain
(5,104 posts)I'll be sad to see her go.
From the time she stepped fully into the political limelight--in the aftermath of the killings of SF Mayor George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk--until now, Dianne Feinstein has been a beacon of thoughtful, wise, and mature liberal leadership.
I think she remains as an asset to our party and to the nation, and she will be missed when the time comes.

(16,829 posts)I don't like seeing the Supreme Court justices work forever.
I don't like seeing Senators hold on to their seats forever.
I don't want to see age restrictions, because there are always exceptions. The voters should decide.
But I would like to see term limits of 2 terms for Senators, 5 terms for Congress, 10 years for the Supreme Court.
ReluctanceTango
(219 posts)Because every time term limits have been enacted, that's what happens. They're the only ones who will be left with enough institutional knowledge to get things done.
The problem isn't the term limits. We already have those; it's called the ballot box.
The problem is with we the people who keep electing bad actors. And how, 90% of the time, the problem people have with certain pols getting re-elected is when it's that other district's rep or other state's Senator who's been "serving too long," while ours is great and deserves to be there forever. Too many term limit supporters are keen to get rid of everyone else's reps, and rarely their own.
Even those who think it should apply to their reps, too, don't get that good reps are like good workers: They deserve to keep their jobs when they perform well. You want the experience and expertise of those people in office. Doing a good job should be rewarded, not snatched away over some arbitrary time limit.

(16,829 posts)To run against an incumbent Senator costs upwards of $25 million. Our voting choices are limited to incumbents and those who are already wealthy, like Dr. Oz.
