(9,243 posts)All those avoidable deaths and injuries that are ignored or minimized, and put down as just a "tragic accident", (as though they were UNavoidable)... People accept this excuse far too often. Dismissing it as a "tragic accident" is the equivalent of believing "thoughts and prayers" are the solution to gun violence.

Something else. All too often when a child kills him or herself or a sibling with a gun, the parents are not prosecuted because "They've suffered enough already." NO. They should be made examples and sent to prison for a very long time, lose any remaining children they have, and perhaps be required to do community service speaking to groups on such topics as "Why it's a good idea to keep guns secure."

(36,047 posts)Law schools can't crank them out fast enough to keep up with the rate we'll suing for wrongful deaths and all the other loss, harm and damage that manufacturers of assault and automatic weapons inflict on society by the tools' very purpose.
