NEW: Trump 2020 campaign manager Bill Stepien will testify at the January 6th committee hearing on Monday.
Other witnesses: election lawyer Ben Ginsberg, former Trump U.S. attorney BJay Pak, former Philadelphia official Al Schmidt.
All of the witnesses are Republicans.

(17,557 posts)"Mr. Chris Stirewalt, former FOX NEWS Political Editor"............
From CNN:
Another witness on Monday will be Chris Stirewalt, the former Fox political editor. Fox fired Stirewalt in January 2021 after right-wing backlash to the network's call of Arizona for then-candidate Joe Biden during the 2020 presidential election.
Stirewalt wrote in a Los Angeles Times piece after his firing that the refusal to believe the election results among many of Trump's supporters was a "tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation."

(169,756 posts)who was recently installed as the head of the city's long-time watchdog organization - "Committee of 70" (the position had been vacated by long-time head David Thornburgh, son of the former Governor and U.S. Attorney General), was not buying the bullshit "Big Lie®".
Schmidt was an absolute trooper who was continually pummeled with death threats as the GOP loons viciously attacked the voting and counting here in Philly, despite the fact that the final count process was being live-streamed the entire week, 24/7.
When Mastriano, a big subject of the J6 Committee investigation, and now running for Governor here against (D) Josh Shapiro, demanded that Philly hand over not only voting equipment, but PII from every voter here per his subpoena, everyone knew that would be fucking no-go -

Moments ago, I voted to reject Senator Mastrianos request that Philadelphia give him our election equipment. The Board of Elections decision was unanimous.
Al Schmidt
@Commish_Schmidt
The 2020 General Election was already audited - twice. What Mastriano is requesting isnt an actual audit at all, nor does it address his complaints which are about election procedures/decisions by the PA Supreme Court and PA Department of State.

This is domestic terrorism. The whole point is to terrorize, to intimidate, and to coerce, and to prevent our democracy from functioning as it should. In my case, this happened in the city where our democracy first began. My testimony to the US Senate:

(55,139 posts)and Pennsylvania's Constitution pre-dates the US Constitution. Ben Franklin was involved in writing the first Pennsylvania Constitution which was approved on September 28, 1776. That predates even the Articles of Confederation by 6 or 7 years. So Pennsylvania is proud of its roots, and don't mess with our democracy!

(169,756 posts)you wouldn't know it because all people want to refer to Philly for as its claim to fame, is cheesesteaks.
True story but since I worked downtown in a federal building right in the historic district for over 30 years, I would literally hear tourists keep mentioning "Boston" or even "Washington D.C." as places where the Constitution was drafted.
They would stare at the "President's House" exhibit that is sitting on the site that was essentially George Washington's "White House" before the White House was constructed.

And don't tell them that Philly was a Capital of the U.S. too... Oh nooooo....
