Country star Toby Keith discloses stomach cancer diagnosis

Country music star Toby Keith announced Sunday that he has been undergoing treatment for stomach cancer since last fall.

The multi-platinum-selling singer said on Twitter that he underwent surgery and received chemotherapy and radiation in the past six months.

“So far, so good,” said Keith, an Oklahoma native who turns 61 on July 8. “I need time to breathe, recover and relax.

“I am looking forward to spending this time with my family. But I will see the fans sooner than later. I can’t wait.”

It spread everywhere in her body by the end.
She basically died of cancer of the everything, but it started in her stomach.
Lots of pain, for quite a while.

He had stage 4, but fought for 6 years. He might have been able to survive if he could have taken the chemo better. There was a lot of suffering and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. We were very close.

He is a worthless POS, helped destroy the Dixie Chicks country music career because they criticized Dubya's contrived Iraq war.
He churned out song after song cheering on the good old USA as we murdered Iraqis by the thousands. Also a big vocal pro gun nut.
I was delighted to hear of his condition, could not happen to a more deserving right wing nut. The less Repubs breathing in this world the better. Hope he suffers 'til the end.

Toby Keith has no concerns about the recent repeal of the U.S. military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy banning openly-gay troops from enlisting and serving in the armed forces, although he questions the safety of females who are sent to the front lines of battle.

“That whole gay issue thing, that’s never bothered me,” he told CMT Insider correspondent Allison DeMarcus. “I’ve never seen what that affects and [why] anybody should care — and they never do affect me.”

He continued, “First of all, we’re going to stop somebody from getting a marriage license because they’re gay? You won’t stop them from living together, so what have you accomplished? … Wasting a lot of money here and a lot of time that could be spent working on this deficit that we’re under … I never saw the reasoning behind getting in people’s personal lives.”

Keith went on to say, “But the military is a tough thing. I don’t worry as much about the heterosexual people fighting as I do … about the gays. … In the military or any class in life, you have people who have problems with it, and I’m wondering how that’s going to be compatible on the battlefield. That’s the only question I have, other than that I don’t care.

“It’s just such a big issue that people make such a big stink about — ’don’t ask, don’t tell.’ … And that sounds like our government: ’We’ll fix it by saying, “Don’t ask, don’t tell.” Everybody agree, raise your hands. All right, let’s go get a snack,'” Keith added with a laugh.

“You know, I don’t know enough about what they proposed or what they’ve put in place here. … Somebody’s sexual preference is like, ’Who cares?'”

Regarding females being placed in combat, he said, “In the military, I have a tough time seeing if they put females in the battlefield because you’re not fighting other females when you’re in a fox-hole fighting. You’re fighting some evil guys. They’re ready to destroy you. And especially when we get captured, and they get a military female, that just gets me. … ’Man, what are they doing to her right now?’

“You can kind of go, ’They took one of our warriors, and he’s got a fighting chance maybe to get out.’ But if they get a girl, they can completely abuse her, so I have a little bit of a problem with that. But some of them girls are tough as hell too, so … as long as females and the gays and the soldiers are all killers and ready to fight people off … get ’em!”

But he just wanted to protect us... ?
