AP is reporting names of the U-Haul Army, and the national leader was one of them

https://apnews.com/article/climate-texas-idaho-government-and-politics-southern-poverty-law-center-4f6b998f83814e8951eef658f44d818d

Among the people in the truck full of Patriot Front nazis were Thomas Rousseau, national president of Patriot Front, and Mitchell Wagner, who defaced a mural of famous Black Americans on a college campus in St. Louis.

This one looks to be much more significant than we first thought. Rousseau doesn't seem to come out of Texas except for the biggest events - he was in Charlottesville, for instance.

snip

after a tipster reported seeing people loading up into a U-Haul like “a little army” at a hotel parking lot in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, police said.

Snip

This could have been really bad. If I had been the tipster, I’d be going to bed feeling extra good about myself.

This is exactly the kind of group the FBI would like to infiltrate, but they don't want to cause suspicion so they come up with the "anonymous tipster". The feds knew what they were up to and couldn't let them follow through.

It happens all the time, like when someone gets pulled over on the turnpike for not using a turn signal and just happen to have 40 kilos in the trunk.

Because no tipster will claim this due to the almost certain retribution from people this hateful and dangerous.

I would hope that with their record that the fbi would be watching them.

I find this revelation to be pretty ominous, and am very glad that they were caught *before* they could even begin to execute their plans. They clearly were hoping to create some appalling national news event.

A misdemeanor in Idaho is a crime punishable by imprisonment in a county jail for a period of not more than 6 months, a fine up to $1,000, or both. A misdemeanor charge is more severe than an infraction but less severe than a felony.

Expunging a Record (Idaho)
When a crime is expunged, it's essentially erased from the system. Although every defendant wants this, expungement in Idaho is very, very rare.

Sounds like these freaks are stuck with this for the rest of their lives.

sworn someone mentioned they had a cache of guns and ammunition in that truck, but maybe they were wrong, because I have seen no updates mentioning anything other than shields.

This would suggest to me they were planning one of two things: to get guns somehow and start shooting themselves, or to create enough havoc that other people would open fire.

Hopefully our prosecutor can find some felonies to hang on these guys, but I’m not hopeful: it took several months for him to come up with a death penalty enhancement for the guy who killed police officer Greg Moore, and that should have been the easiest case in the world: he killed a cop, get a rope.
