One thing we don't have to fear is the next generation of Republican-raised voters.
They are being reared to be traumatized by drag queens, and absolutely terrified of reading certain books that the party wants banned. They live in fear of contact with kids who have two mommies or two daddies, and seemingly nice teachers who are actually 'grooming' them to be victims of evil pedophiles.
They are petrified by the idea of being vaccinated against the next pandemic, because vaccines contain tracking devices that will allow the government to follow their every move.
They have nightmares about Democrats - people who kidnap children to be used for pagan sacrifices, and drink babies' blood as part of their devil-worshipping rituals.
They are terrified at the thought of math textbooks that might cause them to be indoctrinated into the world of CRT, or science textbooks that could lure them into questioning the Bible.
They are being taught that being massacred in their classroom is the price they might have to pay so that their parents can own assault rifles, and that watching their classmates slaughtered is a normal part of growing up.
Republicans are raising their children to be paranoid little wusses who are terrified of everything - from education and book-reading, to being "turned gay", to being vaccinated against disease, to being completely traumatized for life by seeing a man wearing make-up and high-heels.
While I may fear the damage still being done by the insanity of the current crop of Republicans, I don't fear the next generation of their spawn.
Children raised to fear their own shadow will grow up to be cowering social misfits, too afraid of the world and all of its perceived dangers to take up the reins of the party that taught them to live in fear.

(153,121 posts)The GOP is A-OK with active shooter drills in elementary school but rabidly tries to protect them from books and cross dressers. How is that not GROOMING?

(11,726 posts)The research on "bullies" shows that they are often abused and bullied themselves.
"Cowering from their shadow" does not mean peaceful. It can very easily mean violent acting out.

(21,264 posts)I asked them on a local Magat web site, before they kicked me off, why they are so afraid that they keep loaded guns in their house? Some of them have strobe lights mounted on their loaded rifles. I told them I don't even lock my doors. There is virtually no crime in our small rural town. They responded that they are not afraid because they have loaded guns throughout their house. They are not afraid because they carry a gun everywhere. I did not realize that someone who I occasionally golfed with had a loaded gun in his golf bag, then i also found out there were more who had loaded guns in their golf bags.

(4,305 posts)The WP has up a piece behind their paywall called "The town crier" - it's a write up on just one example of the mutating MAGA movement in GA in MTG's (aka Gang Greene) district, and how thoroughly brainwashed they've become.
Kinna sad really, and a bit scary. Nothing we don't already know - but it's good to see more pieces on this stuff getting out into the public eye.

(1,962 posts)Scared and hateful of anything and everything that is the slightest bit different, because reich-wing hate media told them to be scared.
They love to call us "snowflakes" yet it is them that are snowflakes.
They love to talk about "rugged individualism" yet try to outnumber and outgun their targets.
They talk tough like they're John Wayne but they're closer to John Wayne Bobbitt.
"We don't have to be afraid anymore!" while they're clearly afraid of anything who is different.
They're pathetic. Unfortunately for us though, we do have to be afraid... of them. Because instead of growing up and growing a brain, they just respond to everything with their collection of guns.
