Republicans wanted pardons for two reasons.

They are guilty of crimes, that's obvious, but more to the point they feared Democrats would behave more like they would once we took over the government. They feared prosecution for their crimes .They expected to be held accountable for them. The worm may yet turn but so far Republicans in Congress haven't even been indicted for ignoring lawful subpoenas. They expected to be punished for their crimes. They would have thrown the book at Democrats if the situation was reversed.

Barred from ever holding Federal Office again. Let them live with their infamy.

I assume their participation has to be proven and I am hoping the committee has the receipts. But if it is proven that they helped the insurrection in any way, the Constitution says they must be expelled:

14th Amendment, Section 3:

No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

is too high a bar to reach, with the current state on Congress and low (R) ethics.

to reinstate someone who was banned, rather than 2/3 to ban someone from serving in congress.

foist off on us. Let them get into that wild ol' healthcare exchange that gives them crummy rationed healthcare with financially crippling copays, and let them live on Social Security and whatever they have saved. And if found guilty let them live in cages for as long as the law provides.

THEY ARE TRAITORS.

4. OTOH, they wouldn't have wanted pardons if Republicans

kept the House and/or the Senate. No hearings, no problems.

Although I don't know how they'd get around the DOJ.

6. They would have tried to block all of Biden's appointments to the DOJ
Mon Jun 13, 2022, 08:02 AM

They would have tried to extract a pledge that the DOJ would not conduct any further "witch hunts" so that the nation could have "time to heal." Unlike Republicans, they would have hoped Democratic appointees would honor making such a pledge, once they made it. But they couldn't count on it working with any certainty. So they wanted those pardons just in case.

Look for these things.

1. IMPEACH Joe Biden ( for no other reason other than he is a Democrat. )

2. Censure ALL Democrats who attempted to hold the twice Impeached former guy accountable (for obvious reasons.)

3. Remove ALL Democrats from Leadership positions and on committees.

4. IMPEACH Kamala Harris just because.

Watch House Republicans go on a tear and purge, while doing NOTHING to improve the lives of Americans, PUNISH the ones who did not vote for them. They will go full AUTHORITARIAN on the country, with MTG leading the way.

How ridiculous would that look as they defile the very US Constitution they swore to defend and uphold?

and may yet be. Who can be safe when insanity is the rule of law? The inmates? The leaders must be held accountable and that will require a redistribution of wealth. Multi-billionaires will see no justice nor will society see security until their extinction.

The choices to deal with them are to do the right thing (the hearings) or do nothing. I suppose a third choice would be to give in to their lies.

Doing nothing would be giving into the fear of reprisal that that republicans are sowing.

Democrats are taking the honorable, brave path by not living in fear of predictable Republican acts.

It gets old seeing the same list of Republican threats. We get it. That’s all republicans have. What’s the point of repeating it nonstop?

with no evidence of anything. They will impeach Biden with no evidence if they somehow manage to take over Congress. Spiteful, vengeful scumbags.
