Those familiar with Plato's allegory of "the cave" might agree that many of Trump's

supporters have formed their opinions based entirely on the flickering shadows he has allowed them to see. Rather than dealing with reality, they are content to be told what is real and how to feel about it.

Perhaps the saddest aspect of this deception is that even when taken by the hand and led out of Trump's cave into the light of truth, most of these spiritual troglodytes will pull away and rush back into the familiar dark comfort of Trump's shadows on the wall of the cave.

Politically, they are determined to be Morlocks.
