Florida inflation rate higher than national average
Data shows prices accelerated in May at the fastest rate since 1981. Inflation currently sits at 8.6% nationally but under Ron DeSantis, it's actually worse than that due to steep rises in housing costs.

Florida inflation rate higher than national average
Amid rising costs, the U.S. economy continues to set inflation records -- now at a 40-year high. Data shows prices accelerated in May at the fastest rate since 1981 and experts say it doesn't look like it's showing any signs of slowing down. Pensacola economist Dr. Rick Harper says the struggles will likely continue. Inflation currently sits at 8.6% nationally but in Florida, it's actually worse than that. "We're at just over 11%," Dr. Harper said. "A lot of that is due to the extreme increase in housing cost." More from WEAR.

(37,449 posts)but he won't. My niece condo complex made the amount more by tacking on extra monthly HOA fees. It was taken over by this bigger conglomerate. It is actually forcing people from places where they were playing rents they could afford. Buying a house is a crap shoot in Florida many are poor states of repair, flips have lines of people in bidding wars.

(17,536 posts)as homeowner's insurance hits the budgets. Some of my neighbors (over 50 miles inland) had their policy prices double. I understand that in some parts of the state it is even worse. That will drive more people out of private houses. They still won't escape the cost as they will be paying it in additional rent.
