Got to love that logic.

The more evidence shown (pulling tighter on them), the less people who already disbelieve (harder to get free) are changeable minds.
There are millions of MAGAts who will never budge even if Jesus himself told them about it.
It will be an attack line in 2024...that's about it.

(4,913 posts)I believe many of them will be indicted and I don't know when. I have a feeling it's going to take years for this mess to be resolved in our courts of law.
I believe Garland will follow the law, the evidence. In the end he will have to make a historic decision when it comes to Trump.

(11,730 posts)that anything will happen no matter how much evidence is presented?
If you watch Beau of the Fifth Column, he usually gives a pretty good take on these situations. He stated that referral to the DOJ will most likely follow the polls and prosecution will most likely do the same. That seems reasonable.
If the evidence presented does not create a big enough buzz among the people about Trump's guilt and the need for accountability, then referring to the DOJ will seem strictly partisan and might blow up in the Democrats' face.
Maybe the history of lack of prosecution for acts that have seemed illegal make people think that this will not amount to anything. Remember that while Nixon was forced to resign, he was blanket pardoned by Ford AND there was no Fox News at the time. I imagine Watergate may have played out differently if there was a whole right wing propaganda system the way there is now.
Reagan broke multiple laws, very clearly by negotiating with Iran in the run up to the 1980 election, illegally selling weapons to a state sponsor of terrorism (Iran again), and then selling weapons to and training right wing death squads in Central America. Bill Barr was part of that cover up when Bush Sr. Pardoned all the conspirators and closed the loop on Iran-Contra. Bill Barr became Attorney General AGAIN after that fiasco.
So, again, not that I am condoning it, but maybe people are a bit jaded about "justice" coming for Trump based on our history. Not MORE, but just kind of the same holding pattern.

Trump pardoned many of them, so I don't know how this works.
