It has always made sense to me that Merrick Garland would wait for the Jan. 6th hearings to do

anything to Trump and those around him. Whether we like it or not, this is political on an epic level. Perhaps as politically charged as anything in U.S. history. So of course he would want the cover of the Jan. 6th hearings findings before making any kind of move. It makes sense for the media to be convinced there is something there and for it to be communicated broadly to the American public before it's a good time for Garland to act.

Or am I missing something?

Do you have any knowledge that he does care?
Yes, I know he and his guys are watching the hearings.

That is the important thing. Maybe it will happen, but the rest, even Giuliani or Meadows or whooever, if it happens, is small potatoes.

Don't bring charges you are not 100% sure you can win. When it comes to prosecuting former Presidents, that will change to; don't bring charges you are not 100% sure you will win. That is an impossible threshold to meet, so you do the math on when charges will be brought.

Justice matters.

a great way to get evidence into the public realm. Otherwise that would have happened after people were indicted and charged. Those individuals would have had months before going to trial to push the narrative that it was nothing but vendetta politics. This way those individuals are having to respond after the evidence has been heard by the public. Nothing like hearing republicans and trump appointed judges all saying the same thing. IMHO, a brilliant strategy.

I have posted the same thing several times.

The Jan-6 Committee is presenting the facts and showing the public that Trump's crimes were just that - crimes - which takes away the argument that this is witch-hunt based on political revenge.

...because I have no reason to believe that the Committee has found evidence of criminal conduct that the DOJ has not found as well.
