No applause for the guy who did his best to spread Trump's B.S.

The two-faced former attorney general would have you believe he was a concerned bystander to Trump's coordination of the effort to overthrow the election.
I don't know how he kept a straight face during his testimony to the Jan. 6th select committee. Was he under oath?

Clearly, Bill Barr see which way the wind is now blowing. And like the ethical windsock that he is, he's going with it.

(18,593 posts)All the rats who are deserting the sinking GOP ship want us to forget the work they did for it before they decided to cover their asses. I think we need to avoid that. Let's be opportunistic and accept their help now, then crush them when the dust has cleared.

(26,168 posts)Good for those like Sherrilyn Ifill who point out their hypocrisy. It will be interesting to see if the committee is letting the Bill Barrs of the world think they've gotten away with their half-truths, only to circle back around at the end to put the misleading testimony in context. I have a feeling they might.

(82,849 posts)For folks who want to defend the former guy, Barr's testimony really kneecaps them. In the coming days, look for all kinds of rationalizations along the lines of "Bill Barr was never on Team Trump anyway, he's a turncoat and a RINO, and Trump should never have trusted him." We wait for that reaction to play out.
Then bring in these tweets from Sherrilyn Ifill, reminding people just what a toady Bill Barr was from his audition memo to replace Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III as attorney general until mid-December 2020. That should shatter a few more illusions about the former guy's reign of error.
