Devastating January 6 Committee TestimonyDay TwoSince I couldn't pay attention 100% of the time, I learned things I missed. Highly recommended.

(22,123 posts)those who surrounded Trump did absolutely nothing to stop him. Unless Trump threatened their life and family and then we have another crime to add to the growing list.

(31,374 posts)I watched it last night-- and it was excellent--having turned over to CNN during the day to watch the hearing itself.
The team is Rachel, Chris Hayes, Joy Reid, Nicolle Wallace, and Lawrence O'Donnell.

(5,936 posts)that "I had long taken Trumps grifting for granted and until Monday didnt see it as central to the Big Lie and January 6."
Seriously? Connecting the dots is what investigative reporting is all about. I'm just a girl in Florida who reads the news regularly and knew a bit about Trump, and the grift tying into the Big Lie was as obvious as sunlight to me from the beginning. Just about everything Trump did from the onset had an element of grift. Did he ever miss an opportunity?
That said, I sincerely hope his comment that the 11 Trump attorneys being disciplined by their respective state bar associations would be "an important deterrent to monkey business in 2024" has some merit.
I also appreciated his bit about Ginsburg's testimony having even more weight because he was/is a "fierce" partisan. I'd assumed that, but it was good to have that confirmed.
I interviewed Ginsburg almost every day I was in Tallahassee covering the 2000 Florida recount and found him to be a fierce partisan, which gave his testimony here more weight.
Thanks for posting this!
