I cant find that info online and wondered if it wasnt just another excuse.
Yeah, call me distrustful.

(33,348 posts)Easy excuse. Having contractions, then they turn out to be false labor. Who would question it?

(17,377 posts)to know even though his not appearing may not have actually mattered to the hearings success and eventual effect. Im thinking he wanted to recant his earlier testimony, but knew that could entirely torpedo his future and opted for the wifes in labor excuse instead. Did I mention distrustful minds?

(94,261 posts)...problems with completing the video presentation.
Rep. Zoe Lofgren, a member of the committee, told reporters that the reason for the rescheduling was due to technical issues and not a big deal.
Its just technical issues, she said. You know the staff, putting together all the videos. You know doing, one, two, three, it was overwhelming. So were trying to give them a little room.
Lofgren said Wednesdays hearing topic, which was focused on the Department of Justice, will get moved to another day, and Thursday will still focus on then-President Donald Trumps efforts to pressure then-Vice President Mike Pence to refuse to certify the election results.

(46,142 posts)Found his wife's FB page on which, back on May 1, she posted pictures of her baby shower. It indicated that they were expecting a baby boy and that the baby was due in 6 weeks.
In all likelihood, the Committee was apprised in advance that he might be unavailable, which is why the Committee was fully prepared to go forward with a taped alternative.
But my guess is that the tinfoil hatters here won't be satisfied by this information.

(14,180 posts)If so, get his ass back in front of the committee. As good as the videos were, he needs to be confronted in person.

(96,882 posts)I don't know what Hearing you've been watching, but nobody at the witness table is being "confronted". They're being asked questions that they've already answered (at depositions) to illustrate the Committee's presentation. If you want confrontation, you're going to be disappointed.

All indications are that the Committee knew that her going into labor was a possibility and had prepared in advance for it.
But that's still not enough to stop the tin foil hatters on this thread.

4 non-
options:
1. false labor.
2. she's still in labor, in which case god help her.
3. baby's delivered.
4. he lied about it because he didn't want to appear, he's a Repuke and he has no ethics.
