Are BAD conservative solutions to school shootings a means to further undermine Public Education?

We're talking arming teachers, bullet proof book shelves, backpacks, active shooter drills, more guns, etc.

I watched FOX for 5 minutes today, they were not discussing guns but they were discussing John Dewey and the takeover of the American school system by progressives and marxists a century ago…

The school system that built the Greatest Generation and the space program is being vilified. It’s obviously a big agenda item for them now.

Over 90% of Americans are committed to excellence in public schools. That dropped to 35% for millionaires (Full disclosure, I can’t remember the exact term but the gist was wealthy elites)

There was a post here about bullet proof book cases where if one applauded people coming up with safety solutions they were called all sorts of things and accused of other things such as missing the point of necessary gun legislation and undermining those efforts.

I have no doubt in my mind that the GOP wants to destroy public education. None. But I also know the reality is that school shootings are not going to stop immediately after gun legislation and they sure as shit aren’t going to pause until they get passed. What we don’t want is to turn our schools into prison like facilities but on the other hand I do not want just any person to have the ability to walk into my child's school. Armed or not. We have had problems with creeps getting into our schools. Religious nutjobs talking to our kids out on the grounds. All sorts of dumb shit. I want my kid to go to school in a fun, inviting, safe place where yes he comes home alive.

So I voted yes on the poll but I also believe we have to be careful about labelling all safety measures as undermining the push for gun legislation. If not only because I believe it is needed but also because the ads will run for themselves: Democrats voted against keeping your children safe. Bet on them doing that shit. It is EXACTLY their playbook.
