CNN would have said "He started strong, but the bulk of his speech fell flat."

He talked about the good things that are happening with our economy. Something the news media rarely does. The news media mostly talks about inflation scaring the hell out everybody.

He also trashed the Trump party.

It makes me mad when I hear people say that. It just means they have never listened to one of his speeches.

Humbled by the shoutout, Mr. President.

The union way of life is sacred. I will *always* stand with working people.

Pres. Biden says he spoke over Zoom with Pennsylvania’s Democratic Senate candidate John Fetterman, who is recovering from a recent stroke.

"If you're in a foxhole, you want John with you. I know he can't wait to get back on the trail. He's looking good." https://abcn.ws/3Og0ONG

8. the problem is still the same - if he says something that seems to be 'good messaging' for dems

a few asshole PR pros int eh heritage foundation or maybe some kremlin think tank yawn, design some counter messaging, and spew it out of 1500 coordinated radio stations as ling as it takes

it's fantastic to see him do that but it's been the same for 30 years. the same messaging dominance worked great for the NRA after columbine, sandy hook, parkland, uvalde, and the next one until the left and dems stop ignoring it, and stop letting hundreds of those stations piggyback hundreds of school and pro sports teams.....

Pundits - even the normal ones - are questioning his energy, his mental acuity, and the likelihood that both, already borderline, will plummet just in time for the 2024 elections.

As with The Big Lie, how do you combat this kind of alternate reality assessments people and policy? We're in a content-driven world now, and the content that makes a splash is the content that gets clicks and views, reality be damned.
