Do not be concerned if the committee does not announce criminal referrals to the DOJ.

At some point the committee is going to issue a very large criminal referral to DOJ prosecutors, grand juries. All of their evidence.

If they do announce criminal referrals that would be mostly for shock value. Announcing a criminal referral for Trump would definitely grab the attention of the news media, the country. I hope they do, but the most important thing is all the evidence they have being handed over to DOJ.

I believe Cheney wants to issue, announce, a criminal referral for Trump. She hates Trump.

A criminal referral from a House committee dominated by Democrats will be perceived as partisan; if the DoJ takes prosecutions up on its own, that accusation will be blunted at least a little (the MAGAts and Trumpers will howl no matter who does what). The referral is just a letter that has no legal force anyhow, and is ordinarily used when the house wants the DoJ to do something that affects Congress (like enforce congressional subpoenas). I'd rather see the committee toss the ball into DoJ's court, saying, we did our job and found a whole bunch of stinky shit for you to look at - now you do your job.

I just want all their evidence in the hands of the prosecutors. I hope they do it soon after the hearings.

It will soon be in the purview of Merrick Garland and the DOJ.

And if the DOJ does nothing, then pressure Joe Biden to hire another AG who will...

But, will they do anything before the mid-terms?
